PTTEP recognizes the rapid evolution of digital innovation, which significantly impacts energy transition and the organization’s long-term sustainability. PTTEP is therefore committed to refining its digital strategy to power PTTEP through Value-Driven Digitalization, transforming the entire exploration and production (E&P) value chain with digital technologies.

By improving efficiency across end-to-end E&P operations, covering both core and supporting functions, through the adoption of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).

Management Approach

Since 2019, PTTEP has continuously transformed organization and work processes, regularly refining roadmap to stay aligned with evolving circumstances. To elevate the Company’s capabilities across the entire E&P value chain, PTTEP established the DigitalX program. This initiative focuses on turning strategy into action and building a sustainable digital learning ecosystem for both the organization and society, underpinned by five strategic pillars to drive Value-Driven Digitalization as follows:

  • 5 Digital Solutions

A key achievement is fostering a culture of action by enabling employees to develop practical applications tailored to their work processes. Applications have been developed to address specific pain points in each business unit, leveraging advanced technologies such as Data Analytics, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Notable outcomes include:

  • AI-driven drilling optimization to improve accuracy, reduce costs and time, and increase petroleum reserves
  • Real-time data analytics to enhance production processes, improve safety, and minimize losses
  • Predictive maintenance using AI and automation to reduce safety risks and maintenance costs

PTTEP has also established the DigitalX Incubation Center to foster a sustainable digital learning ecosystem and continuously develop employee capabilities through the DigitalX Academy. In 2025, more than 2,000 employees and executives participated in various training programs under the Academy.

In addition, the DigitalX Incubation Program supports employees with foundational skills to independently develop simple applications or digital solutions (self-implementation) for their own work units, resulting in:

  • Reduced manual work, redundant tasks, and processing time
  • Improved work efficiency and enhanced digital skillsets among employees
  • Strengthened collaboration networks and knowledge sharing through the DigitalX Community of Practice (CoP)

At the same time, PTTEP promotes a sustainable digital culture through knowledge-sharing activities, expert-led forums (both internal and external), live demonstrations, and collaborative learning within the DigitalX CoP. These efforts foster cross-functional learning and continuous idea generation. Throughout the program, PTTEP has developed over 100 enterprise-wide digital innovation initiatives, generating tangible benefits such as increased production output, cost savings, improved operational efficiency, and reduced risks while preserving organizational value.
